Itinerary

DAY 01

Depart by 12961 Avantika Express at 2055 h₹ O/n in Train

DAY 02

Arrive Ujjain at 0730 h₹ and drive to Hotel.(2 kms / 10 mins). Check In hotel, freshen up. Post Breakfast visit Temple. O/n at Hotel at Ujjain Meals : Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

About Ujjain : The holy city of Ujjain set along the banks of sacred River Kshipra is considered highly auspicious for the Hindus. The city is counted as one among the ‘Sapta Puris’ or the ‘seven sacred sites of Hinduism’. Ujjain makes the venue for Kumbh Mela once in every 12 yea₹ On reaching Ujjain check into hotel, freshen up and later proceed to visit the Mahakaleshwar Lord Shiva temple of Ujjain. The architectural beauty of the temple and the highly ornate spires of the temple will leave you spell bound. According to myths, lord Shiva here assumed the form of Mahakaal to destroy a demon called Dooshan and to offer respite to his devotees from the clutches of Dooshan. Lord Shiva thereafter came to reside at that place to fulfil the wishes of his devotees. The placing of the idol quite unique in this temple; this is the only place where you get to see a south-facing idol of Lord Shiva. Apart from being a Lord Shiva temple, Mahakaleshwar is also a revered Shakti Peeth as Goddess Shakti’s or Mahakali’s upper lip is said to have fallen at this place. After Darshan at Mahakaleshwar, we proceed to visit some other important attractions of Ujjain such as Chintamani Ganesh temple, Kal Bhairav temple, Ved Shala, Kaliadeh palace and Sandipani Ashram. Back to hotel for dinner. O/n stay at Ujjain.

DAY 03

Next day early morning take part in the morning Aarti at the Mahakaleshwar temple and later leave for a Darshan at the Omkareshwar temple (138 kms/4½hrs); another important Jyotirlingam of Lord Shiva. The temple stands upon a unique Om Shaped island on River Narmada. The island is known by the name of Mandhata or Shivapuri. As per legends right at this spot lord Shiva had blessed mount Vindhya to turn into the region’s greatest mountain. Also, it is said that Lord Shiva made two parts to his lingam here. One part resides at Omkareshwar and the other part resides at Mamleshwar which is located on River Narmada’s opposite bank. After Puja and Darshan at the Omkareshwar temple, proceed to Maheshwar (check into hotel for dinner. O/n stay at Maheshwar.

Day 04

After breakfast start for Mandu (App. 110 Kms/ 04 Hrs). Check into the hotel. Mandu is an ancient fort city in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It's surrounded by stone walls dotted with darwazas (gateways). It's also known for its Afghan architectural heritage. Landmark buildings include Hoshang Shah’s Tomb, a domed marble mausoleum, and the vast Jami Masjid mosque, with courtyards framed by colonnades. The imposing, centuries-old Jahaz Mahal palace stands between 2 lakes. Visit Famous Rani Roopmati Mahal. Rani Roopmati mahal is a pavilion built as army post but used as Rani Roopmati retreat. It is one of the prominent attractions in Mandu monuments with beautiful views from top. Drive back to Indore (98 kms / 2½ hrs). Visit Sarafa Bazar for delicious food. O/n stay at Indore.

Day 05

After breakfast proceed for Khajrana Ganesh Mandir, Rajwada Indore. After Lunch free for shopping. Evening 1735 hrs board Avantika Express for Mumbai. O/n in Train.

Arrive Mumbai Central at 0640 h₹ Program Ends.
